Pinon High School is a voluntary member of the Arizona Interscholastic Association and competes only with member schools. As a member, Pinon High School agrees to abide by and enforce all rules and regulations adopted by the AIA. The primary role of the state association is to maintain rules and regulations that ensure equity in competition for the student-athletes and a balance with other educational programs. The association solicits input and is responsive to requests for rule modification from member schools, appointed committees, and coaches' associations. The state association attempts to enforce such rules that assure the greatest good for the greatest number and to ensure that competition is conducted in an appropriate manner. The mission of Pinon High School Athletics is to build successful athletic programs without ever sacrificing good sportsmanship and healthy development in the pursuit of winning. Our tradition is to win with honor. We desire to win, but only with honor to our athletes, our school, and our community. Such a tradition is worthy of the best efforts of all concerned. Our goal is to guide our students in to becoming effective and responsible members of society. We expect our student-athletes to be responsible members of team, to always strive for success, to develop and promote good sportsmanship, to continually seek improvement, to enjoy athletics, and to develop healthy personal habits. Our belief is that interscholastic athletics are not a right but a privilege. Pinon High School challenges our students to uphold and protect the mission, beliefs, goals, expectations, and traditions of Pinon Athletics at all times.
